Yukichi Fukuzawa(1835-1901) was Japanese great man.

Aside from his accomplishments during his lifetime, he is known to many Japanese as the man depicted on the 10,000 JPY bill.

His portrait was on the 10,000 JPY bill for 40 years, and his portrait will no longer be used when the bill is redesigned in July 2024.

Thank you Yukichi. You are the man(with the exception of the Imperial family) most loved by the Japanese people over the past 40 years.
