This is a koma made by Okura Mokko Seisakusho, the creator ofTokyo Kokeshi dolls and manufactured in Hachioji, Japan.

Throwing Koma has a shape that is also bulging at the top, reminiscent of the kyokudokura of the Edo period.


Some of them have many irregularities in the grain of the wood. Since they are made of natural materials, we hope you will forgive us for their appearance. Also, the center of gravity of some of the pieces is not perfectly aligned with the center of gravity of others, which we hope you will understand as a pleasure of handmade koma.


The Twisted top is one of Mr.Okura specialties, and has a unique finish with a machined ring, which is also a part of the Tokyo Kokeshi doll design.
