Berberis is Hydrangea's first titanium yo-yo. Everything from processing to packaging is made in Japan.

Berberis is made from a titanium alloy called 6AI4V Titanium. This 6AI4V Titanium is twice as hard as pure titanium and has profound properties, making it the best choice for making titanium yo-yos.

Thanks to the high hardness of this titanium alloy, the thinnest part is less than 0.5mm, and the weight can be pushed to the outermost rim. Berberis's shape and weight distribution was aimed at continuous combos while minimizing tilting. To achieve the optimum finish, the prototype was coated with a special sample, and then further examined how the coating was affected by the contact of the string and body. From this, we were able to develop a shape that maintains the rotational force while suppressing the tilting effects from the string contact.

Berberis is originally based on the owner's favorite One Drop Yo-Yo, the Citizen. In gratitude to OneDrop for permitting to produce this yo-yo, we named it Berberis after Oregon's grape (Berberis aquifolium), the state flower of Oregon.

Berberis was developed to help the owner who has been using Citizen for five years since its release and wished to show its true value in the contest scene.
