My name is Jiarui Zhong. I am originally from China and currently run a brand called ‘freakthrow’.

The inspiration for this product came from having frequently witnessed doubts and disputes arising at various competitions because score information was not clearly visible. Whilst some competitions do display scores live, the reality is that this practice has not yet become widespread amongst the general playing public.

So, with the aim of creating a system that clearly visualises scores and allows them to be verified later, I developed this ‘FT Engine’.

This system uses handheld hardware that allows players to easily input positive and negative scores. On the software side, it can be adapted to suit the judging structures and scoring requirements of various tournaments; furthermore, it records the exact timing of each shot, so everything can be properly verified afterwards. It is also compatible with various streaming platforms, making real-time display possible.

I hope that in future tournaments, referees and players will be able to engage more openly with the scores, reducing unnecessary disputes, and that we can all work together to standardise the scoring environment.
