A hula hoop top created from the playful ingenuity of an Edo-koma maker.

During the turning process, the craftsman carefully shapes the piece whilst leaving the hoop intact. As the structure appears impossible to assemble retrospectively, adults often find the method of its creation quite puzzling.

When spun, the hoop rotates like a hula hoop in the centre of the two-tiered top, creating a unique effect.

Hight is about 55mm.A kind of small finger top.
