Tamostu Fukushima

Profile of Mr Tamotsu Fukushima

Born in Tokyo in August 1947
Began crafting Edo Koma and wooden toys around 1970.

Since then, he has held exhibitions at department stores and galleries across the country, continuing to do so to this day. His mentors were the brothers Michiaki and Masaaki Hiroi (both now deceased), who were active in exhibiting and promoting their work not only in Japan but also overseas.

He is a craftsman who specialises in particular in miniature Edo Koma, known as ‘mame-Gangu’.
